Summary
This short publication describes the history and main concepts behind citizenship and various dimensions of citizenship. Subsequently it summarises the main teaching “tools” (peace education, peer education and health education). Finally it documents resources and “good practices” in education for (democratic) citizenship in Europe, including political citizenship, cultural citizenship, intercultural citizenship, social citizenship, egalitarian citizenship, ecological citizenship, European citizenship and global citizenship).
