Summary
This training manual is designed to: (1) raise awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault as human rights abuses; (2) enhance the leadership skills of anti-violence activists; and (3) create the foundation and momentum for implementing human rights strategies on violence against women within the United States. The trainings use a combination of lecture, video, and small and large group participatory exercises, including an action planning section. The trainings encourage participants to draw upon their own experiences in order to develop an understanding of the concepts and potential uses of human rights to address violence against women in their own communities.
