This document is a report on the 1998 Asian Workshops on Human Rights Education in Schools. These workshops created a forum for the exchange of ideas on mechanisms for creating effective programs for the teaching of human rights in schools. The document first gives an overview of achievement, problems and prospects of human rights education in Asian schools. Next, the document gives reports on the specific workshops held: the Southeast Asia Workshop (Surabaya, Indonesia, 14-17 May 1998), the Northeast Asia Workshop (Seoul, Korea, 15-18 August 1998), and the South Asia Workshop (New Delhi, India, 15-18 October 1998). The document concludes with a list of participants.

The Workshops resulted from the partnership between Asia-Pacific Human Rights Information Center and several institutions in Indonesia, South Korea and India. The workshops were held on the sub-regional level throughout 1998.
