ملخص
This human rights manual is divided into three parts. Part One provides an overview of human rights with an explanation of its supporting international and European documents and institutions. Part Two offers various approaches to teaching elements of human rights - with lessons to develop a student's ability to speak, write, listen, and read in English, while acquiring knowledge and understanding of human rights. This section is divided into five areas of human rights: Introducing Human Rights, The Right to Life, Pluralism and Tolerance, Equality and Non-Discrimination, and The Rights of the Child. Each section contains a brief explanation of an area of human rights with sample activities to be used in the classroom. Because many human rights overlap, the activities in one section may encompass more than one human rights theme. The appendices in Part Three are a collection of resources for the teacher and include human rights documents and a glossary of terms referred to in Part Two. A list of human rights organizations is presented to encourage the teacher to use the expertise of those working in the field of human rights for advice and information and to invite guest speakers.
